Towards a Resilient Digital India: The Future of Work and Employment
The Esya Centre and the Youth Online Learning Organisation organized an interactive panel discussion to discuss the future of work and employment on 09 Sept. 2021. The discussion was framed in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the Fourth Industrial Revolution that have together accelerated the spread of the now ubiquitous digital economy, as well as the pace of technology adoption at the workplace. Simultaneously, these changes have also impacted schools and colleges, career choices, and consequently, the levels of societal preparedness for the future of work. Panelists included educationists, start-up and industry professionals, who will discuss relevant aspects of the theme with each other and with the audience. The discussion was attended by college students from across the country.
JDCIL-Esya ARTICLE WRITING COMPETITION
To encourage academic research on the subject of competition, intellectual property, and technology laws, Esya collaborates with the Jindal Digest for Competition and Innovation Laws (JDCIL) to conduct an article writing competition. Articles are invited on the themes of Technology and IP Laws, and how can they be molded to foster inclusive innovation. Winning submissions will receive cash prizes. JDCIL is an interdisciplinary, student-edited, legal review blog, that aims to trace developments in the fields of Competition Law, Technology Law, and Intellectual Property Rights, these being some of the most rapidly developing, contemporary legal fields.
INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL, NEW DELHI
The Centre partners with the International Summer School in New Delhi to engage with young leaders from over 50 countries on themes such as Technology, Innovation and the Future of Work. The ISS is an intensive, six-week academic program that brings together students from across the world over the course of a summer in New Delhi, India’s capital. The program is convened annually under the banner of the Government’s acclaimed Incredible India campaign, in affiliation with the Department of Political Science at Jamia Millia Islamia - A Central University (JMI) and with regular support from entities such as the Ministry of External Affairs over the years. The ISS aims at promoting international goodwill and cross-cultural dialogue amongst promising young individuals, developing their potential as future leaders in government, business and civil society; with India as a study model, it offers undergraduate course modules & experiences which introduce the students to a range of issues & debates that are shaping contemporary developing societies.
